A few years ago the idea of exercise used to fill me with dread. I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing and I felt daunted every time I stepped foot in the gym. But when I started waking up at 4.45am for work and ploughing myself with carbs to keep my energy up, I realised I needed to do something healthier to keep me motivated. I joined the local gym, went to classes, then started going with friends and very quickly realised that the gym doesn’t have to be overwhelming (it can actually be pretty good fun!) I became unafraid to ask questions when I was unsure, and I enjoyed the buzz once my work out was done. I absolutely LOVE food (chocolate and potatoes are my favourite things 😍) and I never want to restrict what I eat because I’d just be unhappy. But now I have found a balance that allows me to enjoy exercising 4/5 times a week and I can eat all of my very favourite things with out guilt. It also means I have A LOT of energy (most people that know me won’t be grateful of that 😂) and I just generally feel happier and cheerier. Moral of the story: Don’t beat yourself up for eating a KitKat chunky or a family-sized packet of crisps. Life is too short to hate on yourself. Instead, get cracking on changing how you view yourself mentally and physically. Change takes time, but you can start that change today - you’ll feel so much better for it. Whatever works for you, be it lifting, dancing, yoga, literally anything - just take that first leap and you’ll soon wonder how you ever did life with out it! P.s this photo was pre-gym but I promise to upload post-gym very soon so you can see what a sweaty mess I am afterwards 🤣
